When you become a parents’ club president, you quickly realize that communication is critical. A parents’ club president is the conduit between the Academy’s parent liaison team and the parents. This page aims to help parents’ club board members sustain continuity as they transfer in/out of various positions.

The Dennis P. Rando Cadet Humanitarian Fund

The Rando Fund is named in honor of C1C Dennis P. Rando, one of several cadets in the 1990s who perished before graduating. When an honor guard of his classmates had to pay travel expenses to his memorial service from their own pockets, a group of Massachusetts parents founded the Rando Fund. Since 1997, the Rando Fund has raised private support to provide the means for cadets to travel to represent the Academy at services of their fallen colleagues. In 2012, the Air Force Academy Foundation assumed the collection and management of these gifts, with no change to the Rando Fund mission.

U.S. Air Force Academy, Air Force Logo Approval, and Fundraising Information

Parents’ Clubs must obtain approval to utilize trademarked logos on any items they sell for the purposes of fundraising or when representing the U.S. Air Force Academy at official functions. To obtain approval, please contact the respective party below and include a detailed explanation of how the logo will be used.

Parents’ Club President Conferences

Each year the Academy hosts a conference for parents’ club presidents right before Parents’ Weekend. A reception is normally held at the Superintendent’s home the Wednesday before Parents’ Weekend and the conference is Wednesday and Thursday. On the Friday of Parents’ Weekend, there is an information fair at Arnold Hall at which some parents’ clubs have a table to sell approved products. As soon as the parent liaison team gets the information required for selling approval, they will send out the required information to the parents’ clubs to submit for reservation.
