Management

Cadets in formation during the U.S. Air Force Academy Graduation commencement.

A management major prepares cadets for leadership roles in today’s technologically complex, global Air Force. The curriculum develops critical thinkers who can understand, analyze, adapt, and improve organizations through an efficient and effective use of systems. The courses in the major help develop adaptive capacity and the organizational knowledge and skills vital for Air Force and Space Force officers as well as future community leaders – providing our nation with the leaders of character and quality needed to sustain competitive advantage in a dynamic global environment. The management major ranks among the most prestigious undergraduate management and business degrees in the nation.

The management major produces critical thinkers who will lead organizations to quickly adapt and succeed in rapidly changing, highly technical, global environments. Management majors study traditional managerial and business topics such as organizational perspectives and theories, global organizations, complex human systems, financial and managerial accounting, managerial finance, human resource management, marketing, production and operations management, information systems and strategic management. These topics educate and prepare warfighters to execute the mission, lead people, manage resources, and improve units at all levels.

The Management major is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
