The U.S. Air Force Academy’s new visitor center will open its doors on May 16, 2026. The General Bradley and Zita Hosmer Visitor Center will serve as the gateway to Colorado Springs, Olympic City USA. Located just outside the Academy’s North Gate, it will offer easy access to visitors, with no base entry required.
The 34,000-square-foot center will offer an immersive experience into the 47-month cadet journey and the Academy experience, highlighting the legacy of the Long Blue Line and the importance of selfless service.
Inside, themed galleries feature interactive exhibits designed to engage visitors of all ages. Guests can explore the meaning behind a class crest, reflect while listening to Air Force and Space Force core values, watch dynamic video presentations on oversized screens, and discover career opportunities through the Polaris Star interactive display.

In the 108-foot grand atrium, visitors can take in the 40-, 45-, and 50-foot tetrahedra accompanied by immersive soundscapes of celebrations and ceremonies, all set against views of the Front Range. Overhead, a suspended glider captures the moment of an aerobatic loop.
At the conclusion of the experience, visitors exit through a 3,000-square-foot gift shop and team store.
The Hosmer Visitor Center will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where is the Hosmer Visitor Center located?
The Visitor Center is located just outside the North Gate (exit 156 of I25) of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. You do not need a military ID or base access to enter. The center is easy to reach by car, and free parking is available on-site You can also walk across the bridge from The Hotel Polaris.

Is there an admission fee to visit the center?
No. The Hosmer Visitor Center is free and open to the public. All exhibits, galleries, and experiences are available at no cost, making it a perfect destination for families, students, and community members.

What are the Visitor Center’s hours of operation?
The Hosmer Visitor Center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including weekends and holidays. Guests can visit at any time during these hours, and each visit typically takes 1–2 hours to explore all galleries and exhibits. The Hosmer Visitor Center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Can groups or school programs schedule a visit?
Yes. The Hosmer Visitor Center welcomes school groups, clubs, and other organized tours. While general admission is open to the public, large groups are encouraged to schedule a visit in advance to ensure staff support and a smooth experience.
