Cycling Club

Club Information
The U.S. Air Force Academy Cycling Club was created in 1985. Cadets develop leadership and teamwork skills while training and competing. Cadets build endurance and strength and hone their resilience, technical and tactical expertise. The club provides opportunities for members to test their limits while exploring Colorado’s many miles of trails and roads.
The club provides many opportunities regardless of experience. Members include those with extensive riding and racing experience to those who have never raced. Cadets compete across various disciplines, including mountain (gravity and endurance), road, track, cyclocross, and BMX. They race against other collegiate teams in the region and travel across the country to race at nationals in the fall and spring. Members can also take advantage of training camps in places such as Moab, Utah.

Becoming a Member
The club welcomes cyclists across all skill levels and disciplines. Tryouts are held at the beginning of the fall semester for mountain season and in late winter/early spring for road season. Practice is two to three times a week and involves teaching cycling skills and the fitness required to race. Members can choose what disciplines they compete in and train for. There are various events and races in the fall and spring semesters.
