Lt Col Gail “Force” Smicklas is currently a Professor for Leadership 200 at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Prior to her arrival at the Academy, she was deployed to Ramstein, Germany in support of space operations for U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command.

Lt Col Smicklas is an R.O.T.C graduate with a background in Acquisitions and Space Operations. Her favorite acquisition assignment was at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. where she was responsible for testing and integrating Joint Direct Attack Munitions with fighter aircraft. Her favorite Space Operations assignment was at Schriever Space Force Base, Colo. where she served as the Operations Flight Commander for secure military satellite communications worldwide.
