Maj John Sauvageau is an Instructor of Biology and Budget Specialist, Department of Biology, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. He and his team design and implement biology coursework designed to create awareness, appreciation, and an understanding of biology and the principles of scientific reasoning.

Maj Sauvageau received his commission from the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Florida in 2015. He began his career at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. as a Logistics Readiness Officer where he served in many capacities supporting the 92d Air Refueling Wing and the Survival, Escape, Resistance and Evasion Schoolhouse. Following an assignment to McConnell AFB, Kan. and a CENTCOM deployment as Deputy Director, Host Nation Coordination Cell, Maj Sauvageau was selected for Air Mobility Command’s Phoenix Mobility Program, a command-level sponsored professional development fellowship. During this time, while assigned to the 621st Contingency Response Wing, he supported Operations ALLIES REFUGE, ALLIES WELCOME, and NATO defense during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He also has leadership experience in core logistics functions such as logistics plans, vehicle management, fuels management, and air transportation.
