Bio
SMSgt Derek McMullen is an Instructor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is a reservist assigned to USAFA who also works as a civilian engineer when not on military status.
SMSgt McMullen has served in various assignments across the air, space, and cyberspace domains throughout his career. He has served as an active duty member, a traditional reservist, and a civilian engineer in the defense and intelligence industry. As a civilian Engineer, he has continued to support the warfighter by bringing his expertise and understanding of the mission to design efforts on embedded systems, airborne radar platforms, wireless communication, and signal geolocation efforts for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Communities.
