Bio

Lieutenant Colonel Brian Boardman is an Instructor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. The department is the largest at the Air Force Academy and offers education focused on problem solving, analytical reasoning, and technical communication skills that will allow cadets to tackle operational, managerial, and technical problems that routinely challenge Air Force officers.

Lieutenant Colonel Boardman graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2008 and earned his pilot wings in 2010. His first assignment was at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, where he flew the C-130J and deployed twice in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM piloting over 400 combat sorties. During his assignment to the United States Air Force Academy, Lieutenant Colonel Boardman led over 230 personnel in support of North America’s largest sailplane operation, executing 20,000 sorties annually. In his previous assignment, he was the Director of Operations for the 61st Airlift Squadron at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, overseeing 28 aircrews and 14 C-130J aircraft providing tactical support to combatant commanders through the aerial delivery of personnel, equipment, and supplies.

Lieutenant Colonel Boardman is a senior pilot with more than 1,500 flying hours and more than 600 combat and combat support hours.
