Feeding Cadets in Record Time

Mitchell Hall

Interior of Mitchell Hall dining hall.

Mitchell Hall, the cadet dining hall, is named in honor of air power pioneer Brigadier General William “Billy” Mitchell. As one of the largest and most advanced dining facilities in the world, it serves 4,000 cadets in less than 30 minutes!

On weekdays during the academic year, cadets are required to attend breakfast and noon meals, while an optional all-you-can-eat buffet is served for dinner and on weekends. Mandatory noon meals are served family style as hot food items arrive via warming carts within 5 minutes of cadets taking their seats.

Due to the intense physical demands of Academy life, we strive to provide cadets with high quality, nutrient-rich foods. We offer locally sourced, hormone-free steaks and chicken as well as a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Whether a cadet is an athlete, vegetarian or just trying to eat smarter, our in-house dieticians provide personalized counseling and meal plans. We also accommodate religious preferences during specific holidays such as Ramadan, Passover and Lent.
