Bio

Captain Nicholas L. Williams is an Instructor of Chemistry at the United States Air Force Academy, Colo., where he instructs undergraduate chemistry courses and advises chemistry majors in the Class of 2029.

Capt. Williams received his commission and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Chemistry from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2019. He earned a Master of Science in Nuclear Inorganic Chemistry from Florida State University in 2020. His background includes several operational and analytical roles within the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. He is a proud graduate of the Weapon Intern Program at Sandia National Laboratories, where he conducted his research on the effects of radiation on nuclear weapon systems. His other roles included Aircraft Nuclear Surety Engineer, Executive Officer for the Nuclear Technology & Integration Directorate, and Lead Analyst for the Nuclear Effects Analysis Team.

Prior to his current assignment, Capt. Williams served as the Deputy LPO for Hard and Deeply Buried Targets within the Lead Project Officer Branch, Air Delivered Directorate, at the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Kirtland Air Force Base, NM.
