Bio

Captain Latesha Locker is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and currently serves as an Instructor of Chemistry at the United States Air Force Academy. She commissioned in 2020 as a second lieutenant through Detachment 019 of the Air Force ROTC program at Alabama State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Chemistry. Captain Locker is a Chemist in the 61C career field and began her career at the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) simulations analyst. Her work supported multiple mission areas, including weapons of mass destruction research, leadership of a 24/7 nuclear detection operations floor, and quality assurance oversight of the Chambrone Radiochemistry Laboratory.

In 2023, Captain Locker was competitively selected to pursue graduate studies through the Air Force Institute of Technology as her second assignment. She earned a Master of Science in Chemistry from the University of Central Florida in May of 2025 and now serves as an instructor in the Chemistry Department at the United States Air Force Academy.
