Bio

Major Wyckoff is an Instructor of Biology, Department of Biology, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She and her team design and implement biology coursework designed to create awareness, appreciation, and an understanding of science and the principles of scientific reasoning.

Major Wyckoff received her commission to the Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Iowa in May of 2012. She began her career as a 13N/Nuclear Missile Operator, including pulling missile crew in the 319th Missile Squadron, F.E. Warren AFB, becoming the instructor flight commander at the 10th Missile Squadron and Assistant Chief of Evaluations for the 341st Operations Group. She also worked as an Action Officer working on command and control and ground systems for the Minuteman III and Sentinel Weapon Systems at Air Force Global Strike Command. She completed a tour to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar as the Executive Officer to the Joint Special Operations Air Component – Central & Expeditionary Special Operations Wing Commander. She returned to Global Strike Command where she took over as Branch Chief and Program Element Monitor of the Strategic Systems Branch. She was selected for graduate school and completed a Master’s in Biology studying evolutionary ballistic movement in Fiery Skipper caterpillars at California State University – Fullerton.
