Bio
Capt Michelle McGee serves an Instructor of Economics in the Department of Economics and Geosciences. Capt McGee received her commission from the Air Force Academy in 2019. She earned a master’s degree in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology, where her thesis research explored macroeconomic indicators on Air Force retention.
Prior to this assignment, Capt McGee served as the Digital Transformation Mission Analytics Branch Chief at Space Operations Command at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. In this role, she led a portfolio of advanced analytics and data science projects in various space mission areas to accelerate operator timelines, improve efficiencies, and enable data-driven decision making and digitization. Capt McGee also served at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Department of Air Force Artificial Intelligence Accelerator as a project liaison to enhance and optimize the tracking of the ever-growing number of space objects with artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this role, she engaged with key operational stakeholders to identify critical capability gaps, activated MIT and Lincoln Laboratory space research areas, and analyzed deployment pathways for technology transition to end-users. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring scenic Colorado.
