Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Coley is an Associate Professor of Aeronautics in the Department of Aeronautics at the U.S. Air Force Academy, CO.
Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Coley received his commission as a Distinguished Graduate from Air Force ROTC Detachment 105 at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He was first assigned to the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office at Eglin AFB, FL, where he conducted store-aircraft compatibility test and evaluation as a Store Separation Engineer and served as the Executive Officer. He was then selected to attend the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, where he received his Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering.
After graduating from AFIT, Lt Col Coley was assigned to the Department of Aeronautics at the United States Air Force Academy. Here, he taught fundamental and advanced aeronautical engineering classes and led cadet resesarch. He also served as the Deputy Director of the Modeling and Simulation Research Center, supporting research efforts across several departments at USAFA. Lt Col Coley received his doctorate in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Colorado, where he developed novel methods for improved turbulence modeling in aerospace simulations. He then served as Assistant Director of Operations and Lead Engineer, Data Analytics for the 7th Intelligence Squadron, Ft Meade, MD. Here, Lt Col Coley led two flights consisting over 70 Airmen executing the National Security Agency mission. He also conducted and lead research activities on computing systems in support of the National Security Agency mission.
