Bio
Dr. Jayaraman has been an Assistant Professor at the US Air Force Academy since June 2023. Before joining USAFA, he had ~9 years of experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level in academic settings, coupled with research and development experiences in academia (~11 years) and metallurgical and manufacturing industries (~5 years). His expertise includes a broad area of materials engineering and manufacturing: metallurgy and advanced materials that encompass advanced alloy and microstructure design, including high-entropy alloys, magnetic alloys, specialty steels, and lightweight alloys; advanced material processing and manufacturing, including far from equilibrium processing; advanced materials characterization; processing-structure-properties relationships; and data-driven approaches.
