Bio

Lieutenant Colonel Buquoi is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the U.S. Air Force Academy. In this position, Lt Col Buquoi teaches general and advanced organic chemistry to over 100 cadets annually, while also serving as a mentor for future Air Force leaders.

Lt Col Buquoi earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Georgia in 2000 and entered the Air Force through the Officer Training School (OTS) program in 2004. With concentrations in polymer and organic chemistry, he has earned both Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Wright State University (2010) and The Ohio State University (2019), respectively. Throughout his career, he has served the Air Force as a bench-level Chemist, an Educator, Executive Officer, and Administrator. Prior to assuming his current position, Lt Col Buquoi was the Director of Operations at the Air Force Drug Testing Laboratory.
