
Bio
Dr. Kelly Piazza (née Senters) is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the U.S. Air Force Academy. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in August 2018. Dr. Piazza specializes in comparative politics and studies decentralization, subnational fragmentation, democratic transitions, corruption, and gender politics in Latin America. She has published on these topics in Latin American Politics and Society, the Handbook of Brazilian Politics, and the Handbook on Geographies of Corruption, and the Lemann Foundation, the Tinker Foundation, and the United States Department of Education have contributed funding to her research.
