Major Evan Dicks commissioned in 2012 as a distinguished graduate of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 670, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Okla., where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He has held various base-level leadership roles and directed the Civil Engineer officer initial skills training course as a project management instructor at The Civil Engineer School, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Major Dicks has been a student with the Air Force Institute of Technology Civilian Institute Program twice, earning both a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Ohio.

Major Dicks has deployed to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of Joint Task Force-Guantanamo and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and to Al Udeid Air Base as the 1st Expeditionary Civil Engineer Group’s Director of Operations opening a new CENTCOM installation to support the deterrence of Iranian aggression. He led rapid base defense beddowns at Ali Al Salem Air Base as the 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Deputy Commander.
