Bio

Lt Col Jeffrey Graham is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Meteorology at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Lt Col Graham was commissioned through the Air Force ROTC program in 2007. He has an undergraduate physics and medieval history degree from the California Institute of Technology, and graduate degrees from the Air Force Institute of Technology and the University of California – Berkeley, Berkeley, Calif.

His first assignment was to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Rocket Lab at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., at which he developed new experimental instrumentation for a supercritical cold-flow experiment investigating the stability of liquid-fueled rocket engines. In 2009 and 2010, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Operations Officer for the Defense Contract Management Agency – Central Iraq. Upon his return, he proceeded to the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), where he became the Officer in Charge of Research and Development for Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) capabilities. He subsequently received his Masters in Nuclear Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and became Deputy Lead Project Officer for Use Control at Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), after which he proceeded to the University of California – Berkeley, Berkeley, Calif. In 2020, he received his Doctorate and assumed responsibilities in support of counterproliferation at Defense Intelligence Agency, and in 2022 he joined the Air Staff in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence & Nuclear Integration (HAF/A10) at the Pentagon, where he defended the Air Force nuclear modernization program of record and worked to bring new technology into the stockpile to create new capabilities for strategic deterrence.
