Bio

Major Brock Waddell is from Fort Collins, Colo. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Virginia Wesleyan University in 2012 and received his commission as a Quartermaster Officer through the Army ROTC program at Old Dominion University.

Following completion of the Quartermaster Basic Officer Leaders Course, Major Waddell was assigned to 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, Texas. From 2013–2016, he served as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Battalion Logistics Planner, including a deployment in support of Special Operations Joint Task Force–Afghanistan. Upon returning, he attended the Logistics Captain’s Career Course, becoming a Multifunctional Logistician, and was subsequently assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. There he served as the Assistant Brigade Logistics Planner and later commanded J Company, 1-508th Parachute Infantry Regiment.

In 2019, Major Waddell assessed and was selected to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment. From 2019–2022, he deployed twice to Afghanistan and served as the 2nd Battalion Logistics Officer and Echo Company Commander before assuming duties as the Regimental Support Operations Officer. After graduating from the Air Command and Staff College in 2023 with a Master of Military Operational Art and Science, he served as a Company Commander, Battalion Operations Officer, and Group Support Operations Officer for 1st CIG (A) in Alexandria, Va.

Major Waddell currently serves as an Instructor of Military and Strategic Studies at the U.S. Air Force Academy and lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Melissa Waddell, an Army Intelligence Officer, and their son, Grayson.
