Bio

Lieutenant Colonel Skylar Jackson is the Chair of Strategic Innovation, and Integration and Instructor in the Department of Military and Strategic Studies, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. He oversees integration and innovation for the Multi-Domain Lab which enables over 2,000 hours of cadet training annually, executes a $2.2 million budget, facilitates the Dean of Faculty’s mission execution across four Majors, and provides Live, Virtual, and Constructive training for the Cadet Wing, developing nearly 4,000 cadets annually.

Lieutenant Colonel Jackson entered the Air Force in July 2010 as a graduate from San Jose State University and commissioned through ROTC, Detachment 045. He has served in Air Combat Command, United States Air Forces Europe, and the Pacific Air Forces. Lieutenant Colonel Jackson has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller, Battalion and Brigade Air Liaison Officer, Operations Officer, and Air Advisor to senior members of the Afghan Air Force, political leaders, and tactical-level operators. He has also held positions as a JTAC Instructor and Evaluator, Flight Commander, Observer, Coach Trainer, Assistant Director of Operations, and Branch Chief. Prior to his current position, Lieutenant Colonel Jackson was the Chief of the Special Warfare Branch at Pacific Air Forces, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
