Parents' Weekend: Schedule of Events

Due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19, all guests must wear a mask when attending indoor events. Event times and locations may be subject to change. We will update this page with the latest information as it becomes available.

Wednesday, September 1

Reception hosted by the Superintendent for Parents’ Club presidents.
Thursday, September 2

4:30pm-6:00pm Parents’ Question & Answer Session with Senior Leader Panel
location: Arnold Hall Ballroom  attendance: guests; no cadets
Opportunity for new (or returning) cadet parents to receive an overview of Academy programs from senior staff, including the Superintendent, Commandant of Cadets, Dean of the Faculty, Athletic Director and Admissions Director. Q&A session will follow presentations. Seating is limited so arrive early to get a seat in the ballroom.

Friday, September 3
7:30am Base opens to parents at 7:30am; north gate access is recommended for visitors.

8:00am-10:30am Parents’ Weekend Information Fair
location: Arnold Hall Ballroom  attendance: guests welcome
Offers information and giveaways from many USAFA and cadet organizations. Information booths available from the Commandant of Cadets, Cadet Clubs, Cadet Sponsor Program, 306th Flying Training Group, 10 FSS Support Services and various USAFA support groups. Preorder your BCT yearbook. Food and beverages available in Richter Lounge and on the Arnold Hall Ballroom patio.
9:00am-5:00pm Visitors’ Center
Gain understanding of the life of a cadet through various exhibits and displays. A 20 minute presentation depicting a typical cadet career is offered at the top and bottom of each hour in the Visitors’ Center Theater.
9:50am-11:00am Cadet Aviation Capabilities Exercise (CAPEX) & Pre-Parade Demonstrations
location: Stillman Field  attendance: guests welcome
Bleacher seating for Stillman Field opens at 8:30am. Watch the “Wings of Blue” parachute team, glider team and powered flight aircraft as they demonstrate the various cadet-led aviation and leadership development programs that cadets are offered during their time at the Academy. The Cadet Honor Guard, Sabre Drill Team, Falconry, and RPA Club will also perform.
11:00am-12:00pm Cadet Wing Parade
location: Stillman Field  attendance: MANDATORY FOR ALL CADETS; guests welcome
Bleacher seating for Stillman Field opens at 8:30am. Arrive early for pre-parade demonstrations. Cadets will be released on the field to meet with their guests after the parade. If the parade is cancelled due to severe weather, guests may visit the Information Fair in the Arnold Hall Ballroom or check with your cadet to see whether their squadron moves up their Open House time.

If cadets wish to bring family/guests to Mitchell Hall; tickets must be purchased in advance; only guests that are fully vaccinated are allowed to attend; must provide proof of vaccination upon request; no food or beverages from outside sources allowed inside Mitchell Hall. Lunch available in the squadron quads through squadron BBQs and food vendors. Additional Lunch choices are listed on the Places to Eat page.

location: Polaris Hall; meet at Arnold Hall entrance  attendance: cadets and their guests
Cadets along with their guests allowed to accomplish walk through tours.
1:00pm-4:00pm Airfield Open House
location: Davis Airfield  attendance: guests; cadet escorts are recommended
Come view static displays of aircraft and parachuting equipment and visit with the staff of the 306th Flying Training Group. Shuttles to the airfield available at the field house.
1:00pm-4:30pm Athletics Open House
location: Cadet Gymnasium  attendance: cadets and their guests
Visit the gymnasium, meet the athletics staff, and learn all about the many athletic programs available here.
1:00pm-4:30pm Dean of Faculty Open House
location: Fairchild Hall  attendance: guests; must be accompanied by cadet
The academic building known as Fairchild Hall will have open houses in their departments. During this time, cadets and guests of declared majors may visit their respective departments for a short tour or introduction. Unfortunately, since classes are in-session this day, visits to the classroom floors are off-limits.
5:00pm-7:00pm Dinner Buffet

Saturday, September 4

8:00am ALL third and fourth-class cadets report to squadron accountability formation in their cadet squadrons.
10:30am All second and first-class cadets report to squadron accountability formation at the stadium.
Due to inbound traffic, parents who do not wish to attend the football game should drop their cadet off in the cadet area at 8:00am in time for them to catch the bus to the stadium.
9:30am-11:30am Squadron Tailgates at Football Game
location: Falcon Stadium  attendance: cadets only
Squadron Tailgate food provided by Mitchell Hall for cadets only.
12:00pm-4:00pm Home Football Game vs. Lafayette
location: Falcon Stadium  attendance: MANDATORY MILITARY FORMATION FOR ALL CADETS
Cadets are required to attend the game and will sit in the assigned cadet seating area. For tickets, call the Athletic Ticket Office at (800) 666-8723 or purchase at https://goairforcefalcons.com/.
  CADETS MAY MEET THEIR GUESTS AND DEPART FALCON STADIUM AFTER THE THIRD VERSE OF THE AIR FORCE SONG AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE GAME; CADETS MUST SIGN IN BY MONDAY, 7:50pm (11:00pm FOR FIRSTIES)
4:00pm-5:00pm Catholic Mass

Shuttle buses will run from the Field House parking lot every 30 minutes starting at 9:30am. The last bus departs for Jacks Valley at 1:30pm and the last bus returns to parking at 2:30pm.
