2026 is “A Year Among the Stars” in the USAFA Planetarium – this will include a lot of space-themed movies for USAFA Families to enjoy.
With a whopping 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Martian is one of the best science fiction movies ever made.
When astronauts blast off from the planet Mars, they leave behind Mark Watney, presumed dead after a fierce storm. With only a meager amount of supplies, the stranded visitor must utilize his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet. Meanwhile, back on Earth, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission.
Non-messy snacks and closeable drinks with lids are authorized for this event only in the Planetarium.
Everyone must RSVP online to reserve your seats for the movie. IMPORTANT NOTE: With our limited seating, if you RSVP and your plans change for any reason, please email Jeff our Planetarium Director at planetarium@afacademy.af.edu so we can release your seats to another family who can attend.
BASE PASS:
Visitors to the Academy either need a valid DoD ID card, be in the same vehicle with a valid DoD ID card holder, or request a base access pass for the correct date by using the link at the top of the Planetarium website.
