This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Wednesday, February 4th — 

On this day, back in 1962— An episode of the “Lassie” television show featuring the Academy airs on CBS.  In the program, the famous collie came to the Academy with his family to present a falcon to the Cadet Wing during a parade.  Stars of the show Jon Provost and June Lockhart visited the Academy for the filming. 

…Also on this day, back in 2017 — Gregg Popovich, Class of ’70, wins his 1,128th game as head coach of the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association, setting an NBA record for most wins with one team.  The record was set when the Spurs defeated the Denver Nuggets 121-97.
