This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Thursday, January 29th —  

On this day, back in 1953 — Missouri Congressman Dewey Short introduces a bill, House Resolution 2328, to establish the Air Force Academy.  Though the bill was revised and the number was changed, this was the legislation that would eventually pass. 

Also on this day, in 1993 — An Honor Code survey is administered as part of a plan established in 1984.  The results caused concern and led to the establishment of a special committee to study both the Honor Code and the Honor System at the Academy.
