This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Monday, April 6th —
On this day, back in 1967 — A dedication ceremony is held on the Terrazzo for the F-104 Starfighter, an aircraft retired from the flight test program at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The aircraft remained on the Terrazzo until replaced by the F-15 “Eagle” in 1994.
…Also on this day, back in 2000 — Air Force hosts the three-day National Collegiate Boxing Association National Championships. Twelve Air Force Academy boxers qualified for Nationals, and the team won the championship for the second consecutive year.
