  • Who may request Creative Services support?

Individuals that may request support are limited to government employees, civilian or military, who work on or are stationed at the Academy.

Contractors may NOT request the use of the Creative Services contract due to legal sub-contracting concerns; however, their government counterparts within their office may submit requests on their behalf if it is determined that the request is a government requirement and is not within that contractor’s statement of work to complete.

Individuals from other bases should refer to their local public affairs representatives for support.

  • Will Creative Services automatically cover institutional events?

No. A completed AF 833 form is required to request support.

  • Who is responsible for submitting an 833 request?

AF 833 should be submitted by the designated event/project/program/visit point of contact. This individual must be a government employee, civilian or military member who is assigned to the Academy.

  • How early do I have to submit my request?

The earlier the better! Requests must be submitted a minimum of three business days ahead of an event or shoot day. However, we support events for the entire base and the earlier a request is submitted, the more likely we will be able to support.
Requests for events that take place on weekends or federal holidays should be submitted a minimum of five business days ahead of an event.

  • What is the estimated turn around time on my products?

Your product will be completed within five business days of your request, however, depending upon the number of required edits and the current project workload the timeline may vary.

  • I need my photos fast! How do I get a quick turn product?

You must indicate your quick turn request and timeline on your original 833. Requests for quick-turn products will be approved on a case-by-case basis.

  • Will Creative Services cover my promotion or retirement ceremony?

Per AFI 35-10: 3.5.3. ceremonial documentation is limited to those honoring MAJCOM, numbered air force, wing and their vice/deputy wing commanders, general officers and civilian equivalents, important historical figures such as Medal of Honor recipients, Order of the Sword recipients, or aerial aces for accessioning or for media dissemination. Personnel must be assigned to the Academy at the time of the ceremony.

  • Do you print?

Creative Services is not a print shop. In certain cases, we may dry mount printed products produced in-house, by the Creative Services team to a piece of foam core, gator board etc. (up to three per product). Various sizes up to 30″x40.”

Per AFI 35-109 4.1., all other printing requests must go through the Defense Logistics Agency.

  • Can Creative Services touch up my photos?

    DoD Instruction 5040.02, Enclosure 10, Section 1
“The alteration of official DoD imagery by persons acting for or on behalf of the DoD is prohibited. Prohibited alterations include the addition, removal, or changing of photographic details.”

  • Will Creative Services travel with my team or provide travel photography?

No, Creative Services only provides support to local area events.

  • I hear that a photographer/videographer will already be at an event. Can I add my request to that?

You must submit your own, unique AF 833 for each request. If a photographer is present at an event, it does not guarantee that they can support an additional request for support. Due to the significant number of major events at the Academy, team hours are limited, and Creative Services may not be able to extend their time in order to support additional requirements.

  • What information should be included in a request for website support?
    On existing pages, please supply:
