
Bio
Captain Kylie Wharton serves as an Instructor of Economics in the Department of Economics and Geosciences. A native of Farmington, Minnesota, Captain Wharton earned her commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 2019. She earned a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Previously, Captain Wharton served as Cyber National Mission Force Liaison to the FBI where she coordinated joint campaigns to deter malicious cyberactors in defense of the nation. Prior to that, she began her career at Fort Meade as a mission commander, directing operations against adversary cyber actors during a crisis. She then served as flight commander, leading 25 Airmen across eight intelligence and cyber AFSCs to conduct mission planning, intelligence analysis, language support, and capability development driving full-spectrum cyberspace operations.
