Bio

Maj Sean T. Peters joined the USAFA faculty upon completion of his PhD at Stanford University. His dissertation focused on US civil-military relations, illustrating the complex interplay between a polarized American society and a military establishment whose professional ethic is being placed under increasing pressure. Prior to his time at Stanford, Major Peters was the Chief of Plans and Programs at the 10th Air Base Wing, United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. Previous positions included Assistant Director of Operations, evaluator and functional check flight pilot for the USAFA Flying Team, 557th Flying Training Squadron, USAFA, Colorado.

Born in El Paso, Texas, Maj Peters earned his commission as a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in 2010. Maj Peters earned his flying wings from Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma in 2014 after earning a Master of Public Policy from University of Maryland. He is a senior pilot with over 1000 combat hours and has served as an instructor or evaluator pilot in the KC-10A, T-53, T-41, and T-51.
