Bio
Capt Jenavieve A. Johnston is an Assistant Professor of Law at the United States Air Force Academy. She teaches the core class required for all Air Force Academy cadets and Criminal Law. She is also a coach for the university’s mock trial team.
Before entering the Air Force, Capt Johnston attended Willamette University College of Law where she served as the President of the Moot Court Board and as a teaching assistant for the Legal Research and Writing program. While in law school, she clerked for two sitting Judges and was hand-picked for a one-on-one practicum with former Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court, the Honorable Paul J. De Muniz. As an attorney, she worked at a boutique criminal defense firm in Salem, Oregon, where she defended hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases, including major felony, rape, and murder cases.
Capt Johnston received a direct commission as an Air Force judge advocate in January 2020 and entered active duty in January 2020. She is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Oregon.
