Bio

James Riggan is a cultural anthropologist who focuses on Islamic traditions in North Africa and the Middle East. He received his PhD in the history and ethnography of religion from Florida State University. James is currently working on his first book project about Qur'anic healing and exorcism as practiced in Morocco. His research interests include North Africa, Qur'anic studies, occult traditions in Islam, Islamic healing and healthcare, and the anthropology of Islam.
