Bio

Colonel Thomas K. Swoveland serves as the Chief Information Officer to the Dean of the Faculty, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO. Colonel Swoveland supports the information technology requirements for the 750-member Dean of Faculty mission element including the instruction of more than 500 undergraduate courses for 4,000 cadets across 32 academic disciplines.

His experience spans a wide variety of assignments in both the Air Force and joint special operations units. Colonel Swoveland holds an undergraduate degree in physical geography and minor in geology from Arizona State University, as well as a master and doctorate degrees in paleoclimatology. Colonel Swoveland has published academic articles focusing on the paleoclimatic impacts to early civilians within the Levant in the Annual of the Department Of Antiquities, Jordan; and the Journal of the Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science.

Prior to this assignment, Colonel Swoveland served as the Senior Military Advisor to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, U.S. Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq
