Bio

Dr. Musselman received his B.S. degree from Southern Illinois University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, from the University of Colorado, in Electrical Engineering. He has achieved the academic rank of Professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DFEC), where he is in charge of the electromagnetics and communications systems courses and oversees all department curricular matters. In addition, Professor Musselman directs the Microwave Measurements Lab, where he performs antenna pattern and radar cross-section experiments in a two-million dollar anechoic chamber, for which he raised funds and had constructed.

Dr. Musselman has published over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers, in the fields of electromagnetic propagation effects, antenna design, and engineering education. He has received a U.S. Patent, and currently has another patent pending. In addition to his teaching and research programs at USAFA, he serves the Air Force as the Senior Technical Advisor to Air Force Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (AFTENCAP). Most recently, Dr. Musselman has been the technical lead for an Air Force sponsored, 100-million-dollar over-the-horizon radar program that will provide air surveillance in the PACOM area of responsibility. Dr. Musselman also stays current in his field by consulting in the broadcast industry, where he has routinely used his Professional Engineering license, in an official capacity.
