Capt Vanessa Unseth is serving as an instructor at the U.S. Air Force Academy. She specializes in courses supporting the Department of Management’s Global Logistics Minor program and over 500 future officers annually in the nation’s #1 rated undergraduate-only management program.

Capt Unseth was born in Lapa Parana, Brazil and was adopted into the United States at two years old where she grew up in Shakopee, Minn. She is the youngest of five, with four older brothers. She is a graduate from the Academy with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Portuguese; she received her commission in May 2017. Captain Unseth began her Air Force journey at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. and was the Materiel Management’s Flight Commander and Deployment and Distribution’s Flight Commander in the 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron. During this assignment, she held varying positions including Flight Commander, Installation Deployment Officer and Wing Executive. She continued her pursuit for higher education and attended the Air Force Institute of Technology and graduated with a master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, March 2022. Prior to her current position, Capt Unseth tackled several Dept of War supply chain challenges as the Director of Operations and led the Crisis Action Team to ensure uninterrupted logistics support to our war fighters at the Supply Chain Operations Wing, Ill.
