2026 is “A Year Among the Stars” in the USAFA Planetarium – this will include space-themed movies to enjoy, including this classic celebrating it’s 40th anniversary, a sci-fi film responsible for inspiring of a love of science and space in a generation

This 1986 Disney adventure tells the story of 12-year-old David (Joey Cramer) who lives with his family in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. When he awakens from being accidentally knocked out in the forest near his home, he finds that eight years have passed. His family is overjoyed to have him back, but just as perplexed as he is by the fact that he hasn’t aged. When a NASA scientist (Howard Hesseman) discovers a UFO nearby, David gets the chance to unravel the mystery and recover the life he lost.

Non-messy snacks and closeable drinks with lids are authorized for this event only in the Planetarium.

This movie is OPEN TO ALL to enjoy. Everyone must RSVP online to reserve your seats for the movie.

IMPORTANT NOTE: With our limited seating, if you RSVP and your plans change for any reason, please email Jeff our Planetarium Director at planetarium@afacademy.af.edu so we can release your seats to another family who can attend.

BASE PASS:
Visitors to the Academy either need a valid DoD ID card, be in the same vehicle with a valid DoD ID card holder, or request a base access pass for the correct date by using the link at the top of the Planetarium website.
