This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Tuesday, April 7th — 

On this day, back in 1958 — The Mitchell Foundation, which would go on to become The Falcon Foundation, is incorporated in Texas.  The objective of the non-profit was to fund civilian preparatory school attendance for prospective Academy cadets who did not qualify for direct entry into the Academy. 

…Also on this day, back in 2022 — The Ira C. Eaker Distinguished Lecture on National Defense Policy takes place in the Arnold Hall Theater. Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX, spoke to cadets, with the Superintendent, Lieutenant General Richard Clark, Class of ’86, hosting the conversation.
