This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Wednesday, March 11th — 

On this day, back in 1974 — Military historian I. B. Holley Jr., a Duke University professor, presents the sixteenth annual Harmon Memorial Lecture in Fairchild Hall.  His topic was “An Enduring Challenge: The Problem of Air Force Doctrine.” 

…Also on this day, back in 2001 — Colonel Susan Helms, Class of ’80, and U.S. Army Colonel James Voss, crewmembers aboard International Space Station Alpha, set a world record for longest spacewalk duration with a spacewalk of 8 hours and 56 minutes.
