This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Friday, January 30th —

On this day, back in 1986 — Brigadier General Wayne Jefferson, Class of ’59, begins a two-day visit to the Academy, during which he addressed cadets in Fairchild Hall. During the Commandant’s Leadership Series-sponsored visit, he spoke on “Combat Leadership.”

…Also on this day, back in 2019 — The National Football League announces that Atlanta Falcon football player Ben Garland, Class of 2010, won the NFL’s Salute to Service Award. He was recognized for his exceptional efforts to honor and support members of the military community.
