Weekend of November 29th and 30th

This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for the weekend of November 29th & 30th — 

On this weekend, back in 1968 — The first ice hockey game is played at the Cadet Ice Arena.  The Academy team defeated the Colorado All-Stars, a collection of former collegiate players, 8-6, in the exhibition game.  During the first shift of the first period, a puck went through the “shatter-proof” glass and onto the running track in the multi-purpose area. 

…Also on this weekend, in 2015 — Women in Aviation International announces the 2016 inductees into its International Pioneer Hall of Fame.  One of the selectees was General Janet Wolfenbarger, Class of ’80.  She was the Air Force and the Air Force Academy’s first female four-star general.
