This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Wednesday, February 11th — 

On this day, back in 1959 — The Academy Board approves the creation of a philosophy course to be taught during the second class (junior) year for cadets. 

…Also on this day, back in 1992 — Colonel Terence Hendricks, Class of ’74 and pilot of the November 24, 1991 Space Shuttle Atlantis launch, visits the Academy.  He presented a Wings of Blue patch that he had carried on the mission to then-current team members.  The event took place at the 94th Airmanship Training Squadron.
