This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Thursday, November 27th — Happy Thanksgiving!

On this day, back in 1969 — The Air Force Academy Band marches in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City.

Also on this day, in 2001 — The Association of Graduates conducts a ceremony to honor its newest Honorary Member, Retired Lieutenant General Albert Patton Clark who served as the Academy Superintendent from 1970 to 1974 and had been a POW during World War II. Honorary membership is awarded to persons who have rendered outstanding service to the Air Force and/or the Academy. Membership is limited to 25 living persons and must be unanimously approved by AOG Board members voting by secret ballot.
