This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Thursday, April 9th —  

On this day, back in 1997 — Lockheed Martin and Boeing roll out the F-22 “Raptor” air superiority fighter at Lockheed’s Marietta, Georgia, plant.  General Ronald Fogleman, Class of ’63 and Chief of Staff of the Air Force, spoke at the event.   

…Also on this day, back in 2017 — The Athletic Department announces that the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation has elected the Academy’s 1970 football team and former All-American football player and wrestler Terry Maki, Class of ’87, to its Hall of Fame Class of 2021.  The class would be inducted on November 1, at the Broadmoor World Arena.
