Lieutenant Colonel Devon Messick is an Instructor of Political Science at the United States Air Force Academy where he teaches International Security Studies. He is a career Special Agent with the Department of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). Throughout his career, Lieutenant Colonel Messick has conducted and led felony criminal investigations and counterintelligence operations within the U.S. and abroad. His expeditionary experience includes serving in joint units in Iraq during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF) and in Africa supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM- HORN OF AFRICA (OEF-HOA). He has also served as an operations officer, joint staff officer, and has commanded three OSI field units.
Lieutenant Colonel Messick is a 2005 graduate of the University of Wyoming and earned his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC). In 2011, he completed a Master of Arts degree in Security Studies with an emphasis in the Middle East and Africa at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, as well as an Associate Arts in Turkish from the Defense Language Institute.
