Bio
Dr. Ayers is a Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Chemistry Department at USAFA. He is on leave from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, CO where he is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and former Department Head of the Physical and Environmental Sciences Department. Dr. Ayers’ training is in experimental physical chemistry, and he uses these skills to study problems of atmospheric interest. He has taught courses in general chemistry, physical chemistry, environmental chemistry, and atmospheric science.
When not working hard collecting and analyzing data or helping students master chemistry, he enjoys being outside. You may find him on a hiking or cross-country ski trail enjoying our beautiful surroundings or out working in the garden.
