Bio

Capt. Rebecca Layng is an Instructor of English in the Department of English and Fine Arts. She graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2019 with a B.S. in English and then from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2020 with an M.A. in English. After completing her formal education, she attended the 315 TRS Intelligence Officer Course, graduating and stepping into the 14N career field in 2021. She then joined the 67 Cyberspace Wing, serving as the 67 OSS Intelligence Flight's Officer in Charge of Analysis and Production (2021-2022), and subsequently as the Intelligence Branch Chief for the 67 CW / A39 Division (2022-2023). She joined the U.S. Air Force Academy Dean of the Faculty's staff in June 2023 as an Instructor of English. She is an aspiring literary artist, and in her free time writes poetry and short stories, as well as blog posts for an independent publishing company.
