Bio
Maj Travis Tubbs is a professor at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the Department of Biology. He currently teaches General Biology, Botany and Astrobiology.
Maj Tubbs received his commission into the United States Air Force from Oregon State University in 2003. He has had a diverse career including Combat Crew Commander for nuclear missile operations and nuclear codes controller at Minot AFB, North Dakota. He then developed some of the first professional continuing education courses for cyber professionals at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. He went on to instruct multiple officers through intense initial space ops training at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California and revised the training to meet the new technical demands of the Air Force space operations. While at Vandenberg, Maj Tubbs was handpicked to work for the Commander of Joint Functional Component Command for Space where he was instrumental in the integration and execution of joint Special Technical Operations specifically utilizing satellite operations to advance intel gathering on adversarial countries. He officially transferred to the United States Space Force in 2020.
