Bio

Col Maureen A. Trujillo is the Commander, Cadet Group Three, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. As Commander, she is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing 1,100 cadets into officers of character culminating in an undergraduate degree and a commission in the Air Force or Space Force.

Colonel Trujillo received her commission in 2002 through Air Force ROTC at the University of New Mexico. She is a career Airfield Operations Officer serving in multiple major commands, including a tour as the Senior Air Traffic Control Advisor in Baghdad, Iraq, and Commander, 375th Operations Support Squadron, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

Colonel Trujillo has served on the Joint Staff, as Chief, Actions Division, Secretary, Joint Staff, where she was responsible for preparation, coordination, and dissemination of national level decision making products for the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Assistant Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as well as the Director and Vice Director of the Joint Staff. Colonel Trujillo was also a National Defense Fellow at the Library of Congress and the Congressional Research Service. She also served as the Branch Chief, Congressional Engagements in Secretary of the Air Force Legislative Liaison Directorate. In this role, she was responsible for the coordination of all Congressional Engagements and hearing preparation for the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Chief of Space Operations, and other senior leaders in the Department of the Air Force. Prior to her current assignment, Colonel Trujillo was a member of the National War College military faculty. She educated future leaders of the Armed Forces, Department of State, and other civilian agencies for high-level policy, command, and staff responsibilities by conducting senior-level course studies focusing on national security strategy.
