Bio

Colonel J. Brandon Alexander is the Commander, Cadet Group One, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. He leads ten squadrons in fostering a military environment to educate, train and inspire over 1,000 cadets to apply leadership principles and Air Force core values in preparation to become commissioned officers and leaders of character for the U.S. Air Force and our Nation.

Colonel Alexander commissioned from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1999. He has served on active duty as a Weather and Environmental Services Officer leading weather operations at the squadron, group, Air Operations Center, FOA, and Headquarters Air Force staff levels throughout his career. He deployed to support the Operation NOBLE EAGLE homeland defense mission in 2006, and to Balad Air Base, Iraq, in 2009 as part of the 332d Air Expeditionary Wing, which traces its lineage back to the historic Tuskegee Airmen of World War II.

Colonel Alexander is a native of Biloxi, Mississippi. His wife, Claire, retired from the Air National Guard after 21 years of active, Reserve, and Guard service, and now works as a GS cyber ops civilian. They have two children, Bryson and Shymaya.
