Lieutenant Colonel Brian Stewart

Bio
Lieutenant Colonel Brian Stewart is the Director of the Strategy and Warfare Center, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Military and Strategic Studies, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Lieutenant Colonel Stewart received his commission from Air Force ROTC Det 165 at Georgia Tech in 2008. From there, he completed Undergraduate Space Training at Vandenberg AFB, California. Lieutenant Colonel Stewart was selected for the Space Operations career field during training and went on to be a satellite operations officer, instructor, and mission commander for protected satellite communications satellites at Schriever AFB, Colorado.
Following this assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Stewart joined the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) as a mission commander at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and deployed as the NRO Liaison to Afghanistan from 2014-2015.
After leaving the NRO, Lieutenant Colonel Stewart took charge of a newly formed battlespace awareness center at Buckley AFB, Colorado and brought the center online to support tactical users worldwide with real-time intelligence. During this assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Stewart was selected by the Department of Military and Strategic Studies at USAFA for the faculty pipeline PhD program and moved to Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia to complete his degree.
