
Bio
Dr. Brittney Szempruch is originally from Long Island, New York, and came to USAFA in 2018 after completing her PhD at Stanford University. She studies and teaches the literature of ancient Greece and Rome and is most broadly interested in questions of genre in ancient texts. Her research investigates the relationship between literature and religion in ancient Rome, and she is currently working on a monograph that studies the Latin hymn from Rome’s foundation. At USAFA she teaches a wide variety of topics in classical literature as well as introductory courses in composition and literary study.
